The Beginning

It’s January, the month of “new beginnings” and a “clean slate”. When life goals are jump-started with fresh motivation and an optimistic outlook. The perfect month to begin a blog.

But wait!

It’s the 31st! The month is almost over, and we haven’t even posted our first article! The logo and branding aren’t completed yet, and I’m fresh out of inspiration. Where did the time go? What happened to the enthusiasm that helped us take this plunge? If we don’t start now, then it’s all for nothing! *dramatic sigh* The discouragement of unmet expectations driven by perfectionism and pride has begun to set in.

But wait.

That’s not the point. Why did we decide to blog?

We wanted to challenge ourselves to cherish and cultivate the “normal things” of life. And we wanted a channel through which we could share and reflect. Life is one of busyness and responsibilities, but also of relationships and moments that are worth being recognized and cherished.

We’re not promising non-stop action, deep life-changing advice, tips and tricks to being a creative genius, or culinary masterpieces. We do want to talk about real things that have meaning to us. We’re hoping to stretch and challenge ourselves to post regularly. Art and creativity are things we appreciate and enjoy sharing.

It won’t be fancy. It won’t be perfect. That’s the point.
